Decipher: A Series of Interdisciplinary Art Cyphers

Decipher by definition is to succeed in overerstanding, interpreting, or identifying something. “Cyphers” are rooted in the origin of HipHop culture where all the elements would converge but the concept of a “cipher” (root word sifr Arabic for 0) can be traced back to ancient African civilizations where gatherings would take place in circles and open to all forms of creative expression. 

This evolutionary community based event founded and musically directed by Artivist (Artist+Activist) Y? serves as an outlet for creative expression for artists of all artistic mediums to grow and develop our skills together by moving beyond self and revolving around purpose the same way planets orbit around the sun. Each show has a unique theme and features community artists. All audience members are welcome to organically join the cyphers! 

The “Show Love” production team push themselves technically and creatively to embody a unique theme for every show. Seamlessly blending compositions with improvisation and defying genre we learn by doing and constantly adjust and rebuilding to be the change we seek in the world 🌎
